What to prepare GK for CLAT 2017

What to prepare GK for CLAT 2017
The General Knowledge (GK) section has the highest weightage in the CLAT Entrance Exam, along with Legal Reasoning.
With around few days to go for CLAT exam, are you
  • Still wondering what to prepare for and what not to?
  • Standing more often in front of second hand book stalls and hunting for General Knowledge books?
  • Getting tired by low scores in the General Knowledge section of mock quizzes/tests.
Following are a few quick tips for preparing GK.
  1. There is no ‘right time’ to prepare for GK. General Awareness build up is a continuous process, so the earlier you start, the better it is.
  2. GK build up should become a way of life for the remaining test preparation window. Frequency and sources of information are key!
  3. Let’s understand the pattern of the General Knowledge section in the CLAT seen over recent past:
    • GK section has been a fair mix of Static GK (15-20) and Current Affairs (25-30) questions.
    • For the last 1-2 years, CLAT notification mentioned that Current Affairs questions will be from past one year. CLAT 2016 guideline does not make a specific mention of the same. So, please do not restrict your preparation to 2015 developments alone.
To prepare smartly over the next 70 days, you should be aware of and focus on the following:
Important Topics for Static GK
3-4 Questions each
  • Geography
  • Indian & World History
  • Arts and Literature
1-2 Questions each
  • Science & Technology
  • Personalities
  • Business and economy
Important Topics for Current Affairs
5-6 Questions each
  • Sports and Movies
  • International News
  • Business and economy
2-3 Questions each
  • Science and technology
  • Awards and Honours
  • Government and politics
Once you have done that, you should do time-bound preparation for General Knowledge every day. During the actual test, you should not spend more than 15-20 minutes on 50 questions in the section. The reason is, either you know the answer, or you don’t. One must join Best CLAT Coaching Centres in Jalandhar for practices mock test on daily basis or One must practice the mock test Online specially for GK Section.
